At Petersen Criminal Law Defense, our mission is to support and empower the next generation of legal professionals committed to criminal and public law reform. We strive to build bridges between driven, justice-oriented law students and meaningful career opportunities in the criminal justice system. That’s why we are proud to introduce the Petersen Criminal Law Defense Scholarship for Criminal & Public Law Students—designed exclusively for pre-law and law students aspiring to effect change in our legal system.
This scholarship is more than financial aid. It’s a platform to amplify your voice, showcase your vision, and connect with mentors and future colleagues dedicated to fairness and justice.
Why Criminal & Public Law Matters?
Criminal and public law are at the heart of justice in America. Attorneys working in these fields confront the realities of inequality, due process, and public safety every day. Studies from the Bureau of Justice Statistics show that over 2 million individuals are incarcerated in the United States, the highest incarceration rate in the world. Reports also highlight significant racial disparities in sentencing and incarceration rates.
As future lawyers, today’s students have the opportunity to address these issues through advocacy, litigation, and policy reform. The purpose of this scholarship is to inspire and support those who see law not only as a career but as a calling to improve the justice system for all.
